Novotel Hyderabad Airport hosts Longitude 77 whisky and food pairing event

Socializz at Novotel Hyderabad Airport recently hosted "A Journey Along Longitude 77," an immersive dining experience that paired Longitude 77 Indian Single Malt whisky-based cocktails with a specially curated menu. The evening event showcased the pairing of bold Indian flavors, seafood, and desserts with the unique flavor profile of the Indian Single Malt spirit.
The experience began with an introduction to the tasting notes of Longitude 77 whisky, presented by Abhinav Dewan, the brand ambassador for Longitude 77 Indian Single Malt. Guests sampled the spirit alongside a selection of nuts and cheeses before the main dinner commenced.
Executive Chef Ammanna Raju designed the custom menu around the whisky's specific flavor profile. According to Raju, some of the dishes incorporated the whisky directly into their recipes, while others were crafted to complement the accompanying cocktails, drawing heavy inspiration from Indian flavors.
The evening's first course featured appetizers paired with the Konkan Kokum Highball, a cocktail made with Longitude 77 whisky, kokum syrup, lime juice, soda, and ginger ale. The food menu included Gunpowder Prawns, which featured pan-seared prawns coated in South Indian gunpowder spice and finished with a Longitude 77 whisky butter sauce.
Other appetizers served during the event included Lamb Seekh with a light rosemary-infused jus, Truffle Mushroom Galouti served on mini kulchas, and Charred Broccoli with Parmesan Makhani.
For the main course, the kitchen served Smoked Butter Chicken Ravioli in a creamy Longitude 77 sauce, alongside a Pepper-Crusted Fish served with a coconut saffron velouté.
The dining experience concluded with a Kerala Cinnamon Old Fashioned cocktail. This drink was paired with a Cardamom Tres Leches dessert, which featured a soft milk cake soaked in cardamom cream, topped with pistachio praline, and finished with a warm drizzle of Longitude 77 caramel.
