No voter registration for CM Revanth Reddy in Nagarkurnool, says DEO

Nagarkurnool District Election Officer Hemant Keshav Patel on 15 July 2026 clarified that there is no voter registration in the name of Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Achampet Assembly constituency or anywhere else in Nagarkurnool district. The official statement was issued to dismiss ongoing rumors and controversy regarding alleged dual voter enrolment and double voting for the Chief Minister in the district.
The controversy arose after electoral rolls showed the Chief Minister registered as a voter in both Kodangal Assembly constituency under Mahabubnagar Parliamentary constituency, and Achampet Assembly constituency under Nagarkurnool Parliamentary constituency. Both entries reportedly carried the same Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number, TES0274035.
In a press note, Patel stated that because there is no voter registration for the Chief Minister within Nagarkurnool district, the question of printing or distributing Enumeration Forms during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise does not arise. The District Election Officer urged the public not to believe or spread baseless rumors regarding the matter.
The issue had triggered political discussion after 'FactCheck_Telangana', the state government's official initiative on X, posted a statement on Tuesday addressing the situation. However, the post was deleted within a few hours for reasons that remain unclear.
Before its deletion, the FactCheck_Telangana post stated that the "Electoral Commission" had identified the appearance of the Chief Minister's name in two different electoral rolls under the same EPIC number as an electoral roll anomaly. The post had indicated that the issue was being resolved through the ongoing SIR exercise.
Additionally, the deleted post mentioned that the Chief Minister’s family had informed electoral authorities of their preference to retain Revanth Reddy's voter registration in the Kodangal constituency. They had also requested the deletion of his voter entry from the Kondareddypally electoral roll. The District Election Officer confirmed that any necessary corrections would be executed by the concerned election officials following the procedures prescribed by the Election Commission of India.
