Nizamabad Excise Superintendent Kommuri Mallareddy Arrested in Three Crore Rupee Case

On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Nizamabad District Prohibition and Excise Superintendent Kommuri Mallareddy in connection with a disproportionate assets case. The arrest followed simultaneous searches conducted by ACB officials at Mallareddy’s residence and 10 other locations linked to his relatives, associates, and benamis across Nizamabad and Hyderabad, including Nampally.

The ACB initiated the action after registering a formal case against the superintendent under various provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The coordinated raids led to the detection of assets with an estimated documented value of approximately ₹3 crore.

Among the properties identified during the searches were five structures, which include four residential houses and one commercial block. Investigators also found eight open plots and 10.23 acres of agricultural land. The ACB noted that while the documented value of these immovable properties is estimated at ₹3 crore, their actual market value is likely to be significantly higher.

In addition to the real estate holdings, investigators recovered ₹3.31 lakh in cash and detected bank balances amounting to approximately ₹50 lakh. The search teams also identified three bank lockers registered under the names of Mallareddy's wife and other family members. Officials plan to open these lockers as part of the ongoing investigation.

The searches also resulted in the seizure of two vehicles, specifically a car and a scooter. The bureau stated that further verification is currently underway to determine if there are any additional assets linked to the accused officer.

Following the raids and his arrest, Mallareddy was transported to Hyderabad. He was produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand. He has since been remanded to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
