Nirvaan Uppal wins at Secunderabad Club in Telangana State Open Squash Championship

Top seed Nirvaan Uppal of Delhi and several other junior squash players secured victories in their respective Round of 16 matches at the Telangana State Open Squash Championship held at the Secunderabad Club in Hyderabad on Sunday. Uppal advanced comfortably in the boys' under-13 category, defeating Arvind Sendilnath of Tamil Nadu in straight games.

In the boys' under-13 Round of 16, Uppal dominated his match against Sendilnath with a scoreline of 11-5, 11-3, 11-8. His victory sets the stage for the upcoming rounds of the tournament, which features junior, girls, and masters categories.

In other boys' under-11 matches, Agastya Uppal of Delhi defeated Shivin Yuvaraj of Tamil Nadu 11-5, 11-0, 13-11. Shaunik Malhotra of Maharashtra also progressed by beating West Bengal's Parth Kanoria 11-5, 11-4, 11-8. In the under-13 division, Nilesh Patel of Maharashtra secured a hard-fought win against Karnataka's Sumersingh Rajput 8-11, 11-3, 11-7, 11-8, while Ved Sanganaria of West Bengal defeated Delhi's Jasvansh Singh 11-7, 11-3, 11-5.

The boys' under-15 category saw Armaan Choudhary of Maharashtra edge out Telangana's Prabhaas Kondaparthy in a five-game thriller ending 10-12, 11-9, 9-11, 11-2, 12-10. Meanwhile, in the boys' under-17 category, Telangana's Mitul Sharma advanced by defeating Paranjay Gupta of Maharashtra 11-5, 11-2, 11-3. Fellow Telangana player Vismay Prabhu also registered a win, beating Rajasthan's Yashwant Choudhary 11-8, 11-6, 10-12, 11-8.

In the girls' categories, local players also made their mark. Puli Rama Thanvi Reddy of Telangana defeated Nilani Karthikeyan of Tamil Nadu 11-5, 11-4, 11-7 in the under-11 Round of 32. In the girls' under-13 Round of 32, Myra Aramreddy of Telangana defeated Haryana's Garvi Choudhary 12-10, 11-8, 11-6.

The masters categories saw several local players advance. In the above 35 years category, Nirmal Jha of Telangana beat Aditya Bharadwaj of Telangana 11-9, 11-4, 11-7, while Hitesh Sharma of Telangana defeated Vishesh Khandelwal of Telangana 11-7, 11-3, 11-2. In the above 45 years category, Vishy Nadimpally of Telangana defeated Parth Sanghavi of Telangana 6-11, 11-7, 11-8, 12-10.
