National Diabetic Foot Congress IPACON 2026 Begins in Moinabad

IPACON 2026, a national congress dedicated to diabetic foot care and limb salvage, commenced in Moinabad on Saturday. The event brought together more than 400 healthcare professionals to deliberate on strategies aimed at preventing avoidable amputations and improving clinical outcomes for patients suffering from diabetic foot complications.

The two-day national conference was organized by the Indian Podiatry Association (IPA) in collaboration with its Telangana chapter. The congress is being conducted under the central theme, ‘Redefining Diabetic Foot Care Through Prevention, Preservation and Regeneration’.

The scientific agenda of the conference featured more than 50 expert faculty members leading 30 dedicated sessions. These sessions covered a broad spectrum of subjects related to diabetic foot care and limb preservation techniques.

Key discussion areas included diabetic foot reconstruction, revascularisation, limb-salvage protocols, regenerative wound healing, biological therapies, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Specialists also examined critical issues surrounding infection and osteomyelitis, antibiotic stewardship, offloading, gait, preventive podiatry, advanced wound care, specialized dressings, and patient rehabilitation.

In addition to academic and clinical presentations, the congress incorporated practical, hands-on workshops designed to translate clinical knowledge into daily medical practice. The training sessions covered advanced wound-healing techniques, total contact casting, debridement, comprehensive wound-care management, and vascular procedures, alongside international product demonstrations.
