NALSAR University Students Hold Solidarity Fast Over NEET Paper Leak

On Monday, 20 July 2026, students at the NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, Telangana, observed a collective one-meal solidarity fast on their campus. The demonstration was organized to demand accountability over the NEET paper leak and several other education-related issues currently affecting India.

The on-campus protest was held in direct support of the ongoing hunger strike being conducted by students and activist Sonam Wangchuk in New Delhi. By participating in the fast, the Hyderabad-based students aimed to amplify the demands for national education reforms and accountability.

During the gathering, the protesting students expressed strong disappointment over the continued silence of the State. They called for immediate accountability and responses to the concerns that have been raised by various student groups and unions nationwide.

The students reiterated that peaceful dissent is an essential part of a constitutional democracy. They emphasized that the State must not remain unresponsive to voices that are seeking justice and transparency in the education system.

In addition to the fast, the participants urged authorities to respond with transparency and to uphold the constitutional principles of democratic engagement. They also stressed the importance of protecting civil liberties for all citizens engaging in peaceful protest.

The NALSAR students reaffirmed their commitment to standing in solidarity with individuals and groups raising matters of public concern through democratic means.

Looking forward, the students collectively resolved to gather on the following day to carry out a postcard campaign. The campaign will involve sending postcards to the Union Government to demand accountability over the NEET paper leak and the state of education.
