Nalgonda Railway Station Undergoes Rs 17 Crore Facelift Under Amrit Bharat Scheme

The Nalgonda railway station is undergoing a comprehensive redevelopment and facelift at an estimated cost of ₹17 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS). The station serves as a key transit hub for daily commuters travelling to Hyderabad, particularly to major local hubs like Secunderabad, Kacheguda, and Lingampally, for employment and business.

The station currently handles approximately 44 trains on a daily basis, including both DEMU and MEMU services. The ongoing upgrade works are designed to benefit nearly 3,000 daily passengers by enhancing transit facilities, accessibility, and overall aesthetics.

Several redevelopment works have already been completed at the station. These finished projects include the installation of platform shelters, platform surfacing, and the installation of lifts. Additionally, workers have completed approach road development, parking facilities, improvements to the circulating area, and the renovation of waiting halls.

The remaining phases of the project are currently progressing expeditiously. These ongoing works include the construction of a foot overbridge (FOB), façade improvements, and the installation of Divyangjan-friendly facilities to improve accessibility.

According to the redevelopment plan, the project also includes the interior renovation of the station's concourse, VIP lounge, waiting halls, and toilets. To complete the upgrade, new signage and modern furniture will be installed throughout the station to enhance passenger convenience.
