Nalgonda Knights Defeat Karimnagar Diamonds by Six Wickets in HCA TG20 Match

Late Wednesday night, the Anurag Nalgonda Knights secured their first victory in the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s Sreenidhi University TG20 tournament by defeating EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds by six wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. In a rain-affected match, the Knights successfully chased down a revised target of 117 runs in 17 overs.

The Karimnagar Diamonds batted first, with captain Tanmay Agarwal providing a rapid start. Agarwal hit 15 runs off Nishanth Saranu in the third over to build early momentum. He established an opening partnership with Sai Sharan, who made 15 off 18 balls, bringing up their 50-run stand with a six.

The Knights broke the opening stand when bowler Arfaz Ahmed dismissed Agarwal for 46 runs off 26 deliveries. The Diamonds then suffered a quick collapse. Varun Goud dismissed Satwik Reddy for 1, who edged the ball behind. Goud struck again in the same over, removing Sai Sharan with a catch taken by Nitish Reddy.

Following a brief rain interruption, Goud continued his spell to dismiss Rahul Radesh for 1, finishing with bowling figures of 3/8. Rakshann Readdi then took the wicket of Chandan Sahani for 1, leaving the Diamonds struggling at 65/5.

Harish Thakur and Shubham Sharma attempted to rebuild the innings, guiding the team past the 100-run mark. Thakur scored 21 off 23 balls, while Sharma contributed 20 off 16 balls before Readdi bowled him to end the partnership. Readdi claimed two more wickets in the 18th over to finish with figures of 4/20. The Diamonds were bowled out for 130 on the final delivery of their innings.

Chasing the revised target of 117, the Knights lost early wickets. Harish Thakur dismissed Pranav Suryadevara for 11 in the second over. Gaurav Reddy was then dismissed for 4 by Rathlavath Dinesh, leaving the Knights at 22/2.

Nitish Reddy and captain Rahul Buddhi stabilized the chase. Buddhi was dismissed for 5 by Narayana Teja, but Nitish Reddy continued to score, finding support in Divesh Singh. Nitish Reddy reached his half-century in 33 balls before Ashish Srivastav dismissed him for 52 off 36 deliveries.

With 16 runs needed, Divesh Singh finished the chase by hitting an unbeaten 36 off 18 balls. Singh hit a six off Shubham Sharma to secure the win with three overs to spare, ending the innings at 121/4 in 14 overs. Rakshann Readdi was named the player of the match.
