Naini Rajender Reddy Demands KTR Apologise Over Kaleshwaram Project Failures

On Saturday, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy of the Congress party demanded a public apology from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K.T. Rama Rao in Hanamkonda over alleged failures in the planning, execution, and maintenance of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.
Speaking to reporters, the Congress legislator reacted to Rama Rao's recent visit to the irrigation project. Reddy stated that the previous BRS government must explain the structural defects, operational issues, and the heavy financial burden these failures have placed on the state exchequer.
Reddy emphasized that the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is one of the largest infrastructure projects in Telangana and was built using public funds. He criticized the BRS leadership for showing no remorse over the shortcomings and failures of the project, stating that a simple site visit by Rama Rao would not address the losses to the state or resolve public concerns.
The MLA called on the BRS leadership to accept full responsibility for the alleged flaws in the project's planning, execution, and maintenance, and to offer an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana.
In addition to the irrigation project, Reddy criticized the previous BRS regime's overall economic management. He alleged that the state's economy was severely affected during their tenure, pointing to rising debt and financial management concerns. According to Reddy, the public has not forgotten the economic challenges that followed the policies of the earlier government.
Reddy also accused certain leaders who were associated with the Telangana movement of prioritizing their personal and political interests once they gained power. He stated that the electorate had delivered a clear verdict against the BRS in the elections and advised the party leadership to reflect on the reasons for their defeat.
Finally, Reddy asserted that the present Congress government is fully committed to transparency and accountability. He stated that any attempts by the BRS to influence public opinion through political campaigns would not succeed.
