Nagarjuna Urges Caution Against Cyber Scams at TGCSB Event in Hyderabad

Senior actor Nagarjuna Akkineni urged the public to stay alert against cyber scams and fraudulent schemes while addressing an awareness initiative organised by the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) in Hyderabad on Friday.

Participating as the chief guest at the bureau's ‘Suraksha Ka Tiranga’ cyber-awareness programme, Nagarjuna advised citizens to exercise caution and maintain vigilance whenever they receive unsolicited phone calls, suspicious messages, or dubious online investment offers.

During his address, the actor recounted a personal experience from approximately four years ago when he was targeted by potential cyber fraudsters. He explained that an individual claiming to be associated with a bank had approached him regarding an investment opportunity that could have made him a victim of online financial fraud.

Nagarjuna also highlighted another incident involving a relative in Iran. In that situation, fraudsters impersonated law enforcement officials and falsely claimed that narcotics had been discovered inside the relative's baggage in an attempt to deceive and extort them.

Emphasising preventative measures, the actor noted that he takes digital security very seriously and makes it a practice to change his passwords on a regular basis. He urged people not to share sensitive personal or financial details and warned against acting impulsively in response to unexpected calls and online solicitations.

The event was attended by several senior police officers, including Director General of Police CV Anand and TGCSB Director Shikha Goel. TGCSB Superintendents of Police Sai Sri and Harshavardhan, along with other officials, were also present at the programme.
