Nag Ashwin and Sankalp Gora Share Creative Journey Behind Film Sing Geetham

HYDERABAD — Producer Nag Ashwin and executive director Sankalp Gora shared insights into the intense collaborative process and script-writing journey behind their critically acclaimed film 'Sing Geetham' during an interview on June 16, 2026. The filmmakers detailed their experience of working with veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and mentoring young talent in the industry.

According to Nag Ashwin, the creative team spent nearly eight to nine months in a room discussing and developing the script. He described the process as intense and highly collaborative, driven by constant interactions with Singeetham Srinivasa Rao. Rao joined daily Zoom sessions and remained deeply involved in shaping every scene of the film.

Nag Ashwin also spoke about his decision to build the production team largely on instinct rather than industry experience. Most of the crew members around him were first-timers, whose fresh perspectives he preferred. He explained that the chaos brought by new voices often created exciting creative possibilities, ultimately helping 'Sing Geetham' find its own identity.

Executive director Sankalp Gora recalled joining the project after reconnecting with the team years later. What began as a simple invitation to join the direction department gradually turned into greater responsibilities on the project. Gora described the opportunity as a dream, stating that he never imagined being part of such an ambitious film.

Gora revealed that the script for 'Sing Geetham' constantly evolved throughout the production process. Every schedule was followed by reviews, discussions, and refinements. The team repeatedly revisited scenes, dialogues, and even musical portions to ensure the story remained emotionally effective and clear.

During the discussion, Nag Ashwin stepped back to allow Gora to explain much of the creative journey himself, ensuring that the young executive director received recognition for his contributions and experiences during the making of the film.
