NAARM Launches Fcoars Retreat In Hyderabad To Revamp Agricultural Research

The National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM) officially launched the Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Service (Fcoars) Retreat in Hyderabad on Friday. The launch of this initiative was organized as part of the academy’s ongoing golden jubilee celebrations.

The main objective of the Fcoars Retreat is to gather constructive suggestions and feedback from veteran agricultural researchers and former course participants. NAARM plans to use these recommendations to improve and revamp the overall curriculum, design, and duration of its agricultural research training programs.

During the event, Dr. Yashpal Singh Malik, the Deputy Director General of agricultural education at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), highlighted the importance of preserving institutional knowledge. He stated that the rich experiences of veteran agricultural scientists must be documented and shared with younger scientists to ensure the long-term progress and benefit of the agricultural sector.

Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, the Director of NAARM, also spoke on the significance of the retreat. He noted that learning from the experiences of veteran leaders and policy experts in agricultural research management is essential for the institution. This process, he explained, will enable NAARM to successfully nurture future-ready leaders in the field of agricultural science.

Dr. Sundaram further emphasized that by developing such capable leadership, the academy can contribute toward realizing the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. This long-term goal, he stated, will be achieved through dedicated and improved service to farmers across the country.
