N. Swetha Appointed as New Warangal Police Commissioner to Succeed Sunpreet Singh

On Tuesday, the Telangana State Government officially issued orders appointing senior IPS officer N. Swetha as the new Commissioner of Police for the Warangal Police Commissionerate. This high-profile appointment comes as part of a major reshuffle of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the state of Telangana. Swetha will be taking over the role from the outgoing commissioner, Sunpreet Singh, to oversee security and administration in the tri-city region of Warangal.

The state government has transferred the incumbent commissioner, Sunpreet Singh, from his post in Warangal. Under the new orders issued on Tuesday, Singh has been posted as the Joint Commissioner of Traffic for Cyberabad.

The newly appointed commissioner, N. Swetha, is a 2012-batch IPS officer. Before this new assignment in Warangal, she was serving as the Joint Commissioner of Police for the North Zone in Hyderabad. She is expected to officially assume charge of her new post in Warangal shortly.

Swetha, who is a native of Andhra Pradesh, completed her higher education and holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics. She successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2012 to join the Indian Police Service.

Throughout her career in the police service, Swetha has accumulated significant administrative and field experience across various regions. She has previously served as the Superintendent of Police for Kamareddy district and has also held the post of Commissioner of Police for Siddipet.

In addition to these roles, Swetha has served as a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Hyderabad. Her career also includes senior leadership positions within the detective department as well as the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate.

With this appointment, the state government aims to maintain its focus on key administrative priorities in the Warangal Police Commissionerate. Swetha will be responsible for leading initiatives related to law and order, crime prevention, traffic management, and public safety across the tri-city region.
