N. Ramchander Rao Accuses Revanth Reddy of Blaming Centre for State Projects

BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday accused Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of shifting the blame onto the Central government for development projects that fall strictly under the state's purview. Speaking at a party meeting in Hyderabad, Rao criticized the Congress-led state government's handling of key infrastructure, specifically pointing to the Hyderabad Metro Rail expansion and shared contributions for MMTS services.

During the BJP state office bearers meeting, Rao stated that it has become a habit for the state government to pin tasks onto the Centre that the state itself should perform. The meeting, which was chaired by party president Nitin Nabin, also marked Rao's one year in office as the state president.

Rao addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding the Musi river project, clarifying that while the BJP does not oppose the cleaning of the river, the party strongly criticizes large-scale projects like the proposed Gandhi Sarovar. He warned that spending lakhs of crores and displacing thousands of residents is unacceptable.

He further accused the Congress party of beginning its tenure in Telangana with demolitions, claiming that the citizens of the state would use democratic means to remove from power those who initiated their governance with such actions. According to Rao, the Congress, BRS, and MIM are following the same political path, which he argued has collectively set back the development of Telangana.

In contrast, the BJP leader praised the Central government's initiatives, asserting that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has actively supported Telangana with major projects, including AIIMS and various national highways. Rao dismissed the state government's claims of Central neglect as entirely misleading.

He alleged that corruption, nepotism, and administrative failures by the current state administration have left youth, farmers, women, employees, and pensioners highly dissatisfied. Concluding his address, Rao urged party workers to unite as "Team BJP" and intensify their public outreach efforts ahead of upcoming key elections, promising that Central support would help transform Telangana into a model state.
