Mugpal nurse arrested for murdering husband with toxic IV drip injection

The Mugpal police in Nizamabad district have arrested a nurse and her two accomplices for allegedly murdering her husband, a Gulf returnee, by pushing him off a terrace and subsequently injecting a lethal mixture of toilet cleaner, tile acid, and sleeping pills into his intravenous (IV) drip. The main accused, D Sandhya, was arrested on July 4 alongside her friends B Anil and Venkat Sai, following a police investigation into the death of her husband, Prashant.
According to Nizamabad Circle Inspector Suresh Kumar, the murder was planned over several months after Sandhya learned that Prashant was returning home permanently. Prashant, who hailed from Nyalkal village, had married Sandhya three years ago and later moved to Dubai to work as a domestic worker.
During his absence, Sandhya met Anil at a private hospital and entered into an extramarital relationship with him. In January, Prashant informed Sandhya that he was returning to India permanently due to a war-like situation in the Gulf. Police stated that Sandhya became upset by this news and conspired with Anil and another friend, Venkat Sai, to eliminate him.
To execute the plan, Sandhya convinced Prashant to keep his return a secret from his family. When Prashant arrived in late June, Sandhya introduced him to Anil and Sai, portraying them as close friends. The group hosted a homecoming liquor party, during which they took a drunk Prashant to the terrace and pushed him off.
Prashant survived the fall and was taken to a local government hospital. Sandhya insisted on moving him to a private hospital but instead brought him home. She then convinced him to take an intravenous drip to regain his strength. While Prashant was asleep, Sandhya allegedly injected a mixture of powdered sleeping pills, toilet cleaner, and tile cleaner acid into the IV line, causing his death.
Following the incident, Sandhya informed Prashant’s mother, B Shyamala. Suspicious of the circumstances, Shyamala lodged a police complaint on July 1, leading to the subsequent investigation and arrests.
