MP's Son Denies Fleeing After Fatal Aston Martin Crash in Madhapur

Lingamaneni Sanjush, the 21-year-old son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha member and Jana Sena functionary Lingamaneni Ramesh, stated on Friday that he did not flee the scene after his vehicle fatally hit a 26-year-old mall employee near Inorbit Mall in Madhapur on August 16.

In his first statement regarding the collision, Sanjush explained that he immediately transported the injured pedestrian, identified as Bharati Mukhi, to Apollo Hospital in his car to ensure she received prompt medical attention. Despite the medical efforts, she later died while undergoing treatment for her injuries.

Sanjush said that after bringing her to the hospital, he went directly to the police station himself. He reported the incident to the police officers on duty and extended his full cooperation to the authorities investigating the crash.

According to Sanjush, law enforcement officials administered multiple sobriety screenings, including a breath analyser test, a urine test, and a blood test, to determine whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. He stated that all three diagnostic tests returned negative.

The Madhapur police had booked the 21-year-old for rash and negligent driving after his Aston Martin allegedly hit Bharati near Inorbit Mall around 3:00 pm on August 16.

Details from the First Information Report indicate that Bharati was employed as a salesgirl at the Lifestyle store located within Inorbit Mall. The formal police complaint was filed by the store manager of Lifestyle.

The complaint stated that Bharati and her colleague had walked to a nearby hotel to collect food and were in the process of crossing the road to return to the mall when the Aston Martin struck her. She suffered a severe head injury in the collision, which proved fatal while she was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
