MP Arvind Dharmapuri Requests 10 Acres for Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chelgal Village

On July 3, 2026, Nizamabad Member of Parliament (MP) Arvind Dharmapuri formally requested Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to increase the land allotment for the proposed Kendriya Vidyalaya in Chelgal village, Jagtial, from five acres to 10 acres. The request came immediately after a key decision by the Telangana State Cabinet on July 2, 2026, which had approved the allocation of five acres of land for the establishment of the central school in the village.
In his letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Arvind Dharmapuri expressed his gratitude to the state government for approving the initial five-acre land allocation at Chelgal village. However, the MP pointed out that while a five-acre plot satisfies the absolute minimum criteria established under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan norms, it falls short of the ideal requirements for educational institutions located in non-metro areas. According to the MP, the optimum land requirement for such schools in non-metro regions is 10 acres to ensure proper development.
The Nizamabad MP emphasized that a larger land parcel of 10 acres is highly essential to meet the optimal infrastructure needs of the proposed school. He noted that the additional space is required to build comprehensive facilities, which include classrooms, spacious playgrounds, science and computer laboratories, and to leave sufficient scope for future expansions of the campus.
Arvind Dharmapuri also referenced his previous communication sent to the state government on May 19, 2026, regarding the school project. In his latest letter, he reiterated his stance that the students residing in the Jagtial district deserve high-quality educational facilities that go beyond the bare minimum standards. He stated that a larger campus is necessary to support the holistic development of the students in the region.
Concluding his letter, the MP urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to reconsider the current land allocation and enhance it to 10 acres in the larger interest of the local student community. He highlighted that this decision would secure better learning opportunities and pave the way for a well-equipped campus in Jagtial.
