MMC Commissioner Praises SHG for Bank Colony Park Maintenance in Chikalanagar

Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy on Thursday conducted an official inspection of Bank Colony Park, which is located in the Chikalanagar ward of Uppal, Hyderabad. During his visit to the site, the Commissioner commended a local Self-Help Group (SHG) for its outstanding work in managing the upkeep and cleanliness of the public park.

The Commissioner expressed his appreciation for the excellent upkeep of Bank Colony Park, noting that the dedication of the Self-Help Group has made a significant difference in the neighborhood. He praised the group for their continuous, dedicated efforts and encouraged them to maintain the same high standards of cleanliness and care in the future.

According to Commissioner Reddy, the successful maintenance of this facility by the local group could lead to more opportunities. He stated that Self-Help Groups that demonstrate consistent and high-quality maintenance of public spaces will be considered for the future management of additional parks across the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation.

In a bid to further enhance urban greenery in the region, Commissioner Reddy also issued several directives to municipal officials during his inspection of the Chikalanagar ward. He directed officials to accelerate ongoing plantation activities and to speed up the distribution of home shed plants across the entire Circle.

To achieve these environmental goals, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of active community involvement. He instructed municipal officials to actively engage local Colony Welfare Associations and residents in these greening initiatives. By doing so, the administration aims to foster greater community participation and work towards creating a greener and healthier Malkajgiri.

The inspection highlights the municipal corporation's strategy of partnering with local community groups, residents, and welfare associations to manage public spaces and promote environmental sustainability in the Uppal area. Officials hope that this collaborative approach will serve as a model for other wards within the corporation.
