MMC Commissioner Orders Civic Upgrades in Uppal Bhagayat

On Thursday, July 9, 2026, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy conducted a comprehensive field inspection of the Uppal Bhagayat and Ramanthapur Bagayat areas in Hyderabad. During his visit, the Commissioner reviewed various ongoing civic development works and issued a series of directives to municipal officials to expedite critical infrastructure and sanitation improvements in the locality.
The inspection by the Commissioner covered multiple key areas of municipal administration. These included local development works, sanitation management, town planning, revenue operations, and urban biodiversity initiatives across the twin Bagayat areas.
To address transport and connectivity issues, Commissioner Reddy directed the MMC engineering officials to accelerate the completion of cement concrete (CC) road construction works currently underway in the area. He also addressed safety concerns in the residential zones by demanding immediate repairs for defunct streetlights in Uppal Bhagayath Phase-II.
In an effort to improve the local drainage system, the Commissioner instructed the engineering team to prepare comprehensive proposals for a new stormwater drain. This planned drain will stretch from the Amberpet Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) to the Uppal Bhagayath D-Mart, helping to manage water flow and prevent potential waterlogging issues in the future.
During his tour of the locality, Commissioner Reddy observed a significant accumulation of construction and demolition waste near the Devender Nagar nala. Recognizing the environmental and sanitation hazard this posed to the local community, he ordered the municipal staff to clear the debris from the vicinity of the nala immediately.
Additionally, MMC officials proposed the installation of a new welcome arch near the Amberpet STP. The proposed arch will feature the greeting "Welcome to Uppal – MMC" to mark the entry point of the locality.
This field review by the Commissioner highlights the corporation's focus on upgrading basic amenities and infrastructure development within the growing Uppal Bhagayat and Ramanthapur Bagayat zones.
