MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy Criticises Revanth Reddy Government

Congress MLA from Munugode Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy took an indirect jibe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad on Thursday, criticising the appointment of individuals with no ties to the Telangana agitation or the Congress party to key positions in the state.

Speaking after unveiling a book chronicling the 25-year musical journey of Eapuri Somanna, the legislator stated that it pained him to see key roles going to outsiders, adding that his position within the party limited what more he could say publicly.

Rajagopal Reddy alleged that Andhra contractors were continuing to exploit the state under the guise of development, echoing past practices. Expressing concern over growing corruption, he warned those misusing power and announced plans to launch a struggle on behalf of unemployed youth, students, and other affected groups.

He cautioned against testing their patience or mistaking restraint for incompetence, asserting that he would actively pursue those involved in financial wrongdoing.

The Munugode MLA also raised concerns over the implementation of the state's Indiramma Housing scheme, criticising the strict conditions imposed on poor beneficiaries. He pointed out that construction payments were being halted midway, leaving applicants stranded.

Rajagopal Reddy noted that some beneficiaries were denied bill clearances simply for owning an old auto-rickshaw or tractor, even in cases where those vehicles had already been repossessed by finance companies. He questioned the imposition of numerous restrictions on granting Rs 5 lakh for house construction while large-scale corruption went unchecked.
