Minor Caught in Nampally with 48 kg of Ganja Worth Rs 24.5 Lakh

The Hyderabad Police Task Force detained a minor drug peddler near a function hall in Nampally and seized 48 kilograms of dry ganja valued at Rs 24.50 lakh. The contraband was being transported from Visakhapatnam to New Delhi.

Police seized 24 sealed packets of dry ganja wrapped in brown tape and concealed inside two air bags and two large briefcases, along with a mobile phone.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath, four other individuals involved in the network are absconding. They were identified as transporter Ankit Kumar alias Shiva from Bihar, Bandiya from New Delhi, and suppliers Noushad alias Sunil and Rajesh, both natives of Visakhapatnam.

Police said the minor had studied up to intermediate and was working as a delivery boy. Experiencing financial difficulties in his family and earning an insufficient income, he came into contact with Ankit Kumar, who is from his village and known to him since childhood.

Ankit Kumar allegedly induced the minor into transporting ganja for easy money and introduced him to Bandiya, who managed the procurement and sale of the contraband. Acting on instructions from Bandiya, Ankit Kumar and the minor traveled to Visakhapatnam, where they procured the substance from Noushad and Rajesh.

The duo then boarded a train heading toward New Delhi with the luggage. After arriving at Secunderabad Railway Station, they hired an auto-rickshaw to travel to Nampally Railway Station.

During the journey, Ankit Kumar exited the vehicle, claiming he would check train timings for their onward journey to Delhi. He instructed the minor to get down near a function hall in Nampally and wait for him to return. While the minor was waiting at the location with the luggage, police intercepted and apprehended him.
