Milad-un-Nabi Procession from Mecca Masjid Set for August 26 in Hyderabad

The Markazi Milad Juloos Committee has commenced preparations and sought necessary permissions for the central Milad-un-Nabi procession, which will flag off from the historic Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad on August 26.

Committee members recently held discussions with top civic and police authorities to ensure smooth coordination for the annual event, which corresponds to 12 Rabi al-Awwal on the Islamic calendar.

According to the organizers, the central procession route this year will remain unchanged from last year's path. The procession, known as the juloos, is scheduled to begin following the afternoon Zohar prayers at Mecca Masjid.

From Mecca Masjid, the rally will move through Gulzar Houz, Madina Building, Salar Jung Museum, Darul Shifa, Purani Haveli, Kotla Alijah, and Bibi Bazaar. The central procession will culminate near the Volta Hotel.

To prepare for the large gathering, Markazi Milad Juloos Committee president Kamil Pasha and other representatives met with Hyderabad City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner R.V. Karnan.

Shujauddin Iftequari, an office-bearer of the committee, stated that the meeting with officials yielded a positive response regarding security clearance and operational arrangements for the day.

The representations submitted by the committee to administrative officials highlighted several key civic and security requirements. These included requests for sanitation and cleaning along the designated route, street decorations, security arrangements, traffic management, and the illumination of mosques and dargahs as done in previous years.

Organisers expect a massive turnout similar to last year's event. Several smaller processions from various parts of the city are expected to join the main central rally along its route.

Mr. Iftequari stated that the committee will soon issue clear guidelines for all participants to maintain discipline and prevent inconvenience to the general public.

Meanwhile, preparations are also underway for the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen's annual Jalsa Rahmatulil Alameen, which takes place on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi. The public meeting will feature Islamic scholars from different sects and schools of thought addressing the crowd on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
