MHA Forwards Complaint Against HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath to Chief Secretary

The Ministry of Home Affairs has forwarded a complaint against Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) Commissioner AV Ranganath to the Telangana Chief Secretary for appropriate action. The official communication, which was sent to the Chief Secretary in Hyderabad, relates to a public grievance filed by Aedla Sudhaker Reddy.

Under Secretary Sanjeev Kumar forwarded the complaint, registered under grievance number MINHA/E/2026//0019303 and dated June 5, 2026, to the state's top bureaucrat. A copy of the communication was widely circulated on social media on Friday, June 5, 2026, and was also shared by the HYDRAA Commissioner himself in the agency's official media WhatsApp group.

According to official details, the complainant, Aedla Sudhaker Reddy, accused the IPS officer of violating official conduct rules. Reddy alleged that Commissioner Ranganath made public satellite data and evidence regarding Bathukamma kunta while the matter was still under judicial purview.

Responding to the development, Commissioner Ranganath defended his actions and dismissed the significance of the forwarded complaint. He explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs routinely forwards such public grievances to state governments for "appropriate action as deemed fit." He added that a copy of the forward is standardly marked to the petitioner.

Ranganath further alleged that Reddy is attempting to grab Bathukamma kunta. He characterized the circulation of the official letter on public platforms as an attempt to defame him.

"They circulate such copy in the media / social media as if some action is being contemplated," Ranganath said. He described the move as a routine act and an old technique used by "litigant criminals" to defame All India Services (AIS) officers who stand in the way of wrongdoings.
