Medchal Collector Promises 2-Day Review of Prohibited 22-A Properties

Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Mikkilineni Manu Choudary has assured property owners across several neighbourhoods, including Seetaram Nagar Colony, Defence Colony, and Alwal, that survey numbers backed by representations and supporting documents will be examined within two days for removal from the 22-A prohibited properties list.

The collector gave this assurance after meeting a delegation of property owners and representatives from the United Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (Uferwas) alongside other resident welfare associations. Malkajgiri BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhara Reddy accompanied the delegation during the representation.

During the meeting, property owners submitted title and link documents for properties situated across multiple residential areas. The affected areas include Seetaram Nagar Colony, Balaram Nagar Colony, Adarsh Nagar Colony, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Kakatiya Nagar, Defence Colony, Jupalli Homes Gated Community, RK Puram Asha Officers Colony, East Anandbagh-Srinagar Colony, and Alwal-Sridham Colony.

Uferwas general secretary BT Srinivasan said the collector assured the delegation that appropriate action would be taken within two days. Srinivasan noted that Supreme Court judgments protect ownership rights in instances where individual owners can establish their ownership through valid title-link documents and where the government has not taken possession under Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) proceedings.

The delegation specifically drew attention to long-standing title records concerning Asha Officers Colony, Defence Colony, and Survey Numbers 109 and 111 in Seetaram Nagar Colony.

Residents stated that removing genuine private properties from the prohibited category would enable thousands of legitimate property owners to exercise their legal property rights without facing further hardship.
