Mechanic Crushed to Death Under RTC Bus at Jeedimetla Depot

A 39-year-old mechanic was crushed to death by an RTC bus at the Jeedimetla bus depot in Hyderabad on Monday after the vehicle's driver allegedly moved the bus while repairs were being carried out underneath.

The victim has been identified by police as Santosh, a resident of Medchal.

According to police accounts, the RTC bus had developed mechanical issues with its brakes. Santosh went underneath the vehicle to carry out the necessary repairs.

While the mechanic was working below, the bus driver allegedly failed to notice him and moved the vehicle without ensuring that Santosh was clear of the bus. Santosh came under the wheels, suffered fatal injuries, and died on the spot.

The Jeedimetla police have registered a case regarding the incident and are currently investigating.
