MANUU Launches Second Phase Of Visit Urdu University Scheme With Subsidised Bus Fares

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in Hyderabad has launched the second phase of its "Visit Urdu University" programme. The launch event was accompanied by the announcement of key welfare measures, including concessional lunches and subsidised bus services aimed at easing the financial burden on day scholars.

As part of the new transport initiative, the university administration has announced that it will bear half the cost of the RTC bus fares for day scholars, helping students commute more affordably to the campus.

During the event, Vice-chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan highlighted that the university remains committed to catering to Urdu-speaking students. This is achieved by offering a wide array of academic pathways, including professional, technical, and traditional courses. Prof. Hasan also explained that English is integrated into the curriculum to ensure that Urdu-medium students do not face disadvantages when competing for employment opportunities after graduation.

The launch of the second phase saw participation from students representing several local institutions, including Darul Uloom Rahmaniya, Al-Muhad Al-Aali vo Arabi, and Aisha Niswan. Addressing the visiting students, Prof. Hasan spoke about the inclusive culture of the institution, stating that the university maintains respect for the students' personal dress, including the wearing of the burqa on the campus.

Public relations officer Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Ali Sarwari also addressed the gathering, highlighting the various achievements of MANUU alumni both within India and abroad. He shared guidance for madrasa students who are interested in pursuing higher education in modern streams such as science, law, and other professional courses. Dr. Sarwari advised these students to complete their Class X and Class XII examinations through the Telangana Open School Society (TOSS) to qualify for admission into the university's diverse programmes.
