Mankhal youth dies by suicide after parents delay buying birthday motorcycle

A 20-year-old man died by suicide on Sunday in the Mankhal area of Pahadishareef, Hyderabad, after his parents were unable to immediately purchase a motorcycle for his birthday due to financial constraints. The deceased youth has been identified by local authorities as Baki Akhil, who was also known as Patram.

According to officials from the Pahadishareef Police Station, Akhil had recently approached his parents with a request to buy him a motorcycle as a gift for his birthday. His parents, however, explained that their current financial situation prevented them from making the purchase immediately. Instead, they assured him that they would buy the motorcycle for him a few days later.

This delay reportedly caused Akhil significant distress. On Sunday, after his parents left their residence to go to work, Akhil allegedly took his own life by hanging himself inside the house.

Pahadishareef Police Station Sub-Inspector B Dayakar Reddy shared details regarding the initial investigation. He noted that the family believes the young man may have slipped into depression following the conversation about the motorcycle.

"After his parents went out to work, Akhil allegedly hanged himself in the house," Sub-Inspector B Dayakar Reddy said. "His parents told us that he might have slipped into depression because they could not gift him a motorcycle on his birthday."

Following the incident, the Pahadishareef police registered a case and have initiated an official investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young man's death.
