Mandal-Level Prajavani to Launch on August 17 Across Telangana

HYDERABAD — Mandal-level Prajavani programmes will be launched across Telangana on August 17 to address local public grievances, with 560 mandal parishad development officers (MPDOs) designated as mandal nodal officers. The announcement was made by Dr G. Chinna Reddy, state-level Prajavani in-charge and Telangana Planning Board vice-chairman, during an MPDO training programme held at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Addressing the participating officers, Dr Chinna Reddy stated that officials must discharge their duties with dedication and accountability, keeping the resolution of public grievances as their primary objective. He noted that mandal-level officials across various departments hold a critical role in resolving citizens' issues at the field level rather than letting applications linger.

Dr Chinna Reddy noted that the state-level Chief Minister's Prajavani initiative had recorded a 75 per cent success rate in resolving grievances. He urged mandal and district officials to replicate that standard, reminding them to use the platform to assist poor and disadvantaged citizens.

Preparations for the mandal-level rollout must mirror the arrangements at the state level. These measures include department-wise grievance desks, support staff to assist citizens with writing and submitting applications, drinking water, medical facilities, and dedicated accommodations for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

State nodal officer K. Vidyasagar emphasised that officials must remain accessible to the public and actively investigate and resolve genuine issues rather than merely collecting paperwork. Vemula Srinivasulu, Officer on Special Duty to the Chief Minister overseeing Prajavani affairs, urged officers to act patiently to build public confidence in government administration.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Commissioner Divya Devarajan stressed the need to follow up on grievances until concrete action is taken. The training session included technical presentations on registration, processing, and inter-departmental coordination, attended by Planning Department Director Sheikh Meera, CM Prajavani ACP Umender, Deputy Collector Venkateshwarlu, and Centre for Good Governance official Sushila.
