Mancherial Man Arrested for Smothering Father and Burning Body in Bheemaram

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday evening at Bheemaram mandal centre in Mancherial district for allegedly murdering his father and burning his body following an ongoing feud over his marriage. According to the police, the suspect, Bheemini Uday, smothered his father, Laxman, to death at a mango farm on July 21 before setting the corpse on fire.

Providing details regarding the arrest, Jaipur Inspector Naveen Kumar stated that the suspect confessed to the crime during police interrogation. The official explained that Uday had married a girl against his father's wishes. Following the marriage, Laxman reportedly harassed and abused both Uday and his wife, leading to severe domestic conflict.

Investigators revealed that on July 21, Uday took Laxman to a mango farm situated in Bheemaram. While at the farm, Uday smothered his father to death and subsequently set fire to the body. To conceal the crime and mislead both his family members and law enforcement, the youngster filed a false missing complaint regarding his father's disappearance.

Following the missing report, police launched a search operation to locate the man. On July 30, officers traced Laxman's body at the mango farm where the incident took place. During questioning, Uday confessed to taking his father to the farm, killing him, burning the body, and lodging the false complaint to divert suspicion.

As part of the police investigation, law enforcement personnel also recovered a motorbike that was used by the youngster to commit the crime. The suspect was taken into custody following his arrest by the police team.
