Man Murdered by Son-in-Law's Father Near Rampur Lake Over Family Feud

A family feud stemming from an ongoing marital dispute allegedly led to the murder of a man by his son-in-law’s father late on Monday night near Rampur Lake, on the outskirts of Rampur village under the Dharmasagar police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as P Venkanna. According to the police, Venkanna was the father of a woman who had married the son of the accused, A Parameshwar. Both families reside in Chilpur village, located in Jangaon district.
Kazipet Inspector J Shyam Sunder stated that both families had initially consented to and approved the marriage. However, disputes later arose between the married couple, which gradually strained relations between the two families. Police said that Parameshwar harboured a deep grudge against Venkanna following these disputes and allegedly plotted to kill him.
According to police reports, Parameshwar invited his friend, D Sampath, for a drinking session and instructed him to bring Venkanna along. The three individuals gathered and consumed alcohol together near the bund of Rampur Lake late into the night.
Investigators stated that while Venkanna was heavily intoxicated, Parameshwar allegedly attacked him with a knife and slit his throat. Venkanna died on the spot on the lake bund due to the severe injuries.
The victim's body was discovered by local residents on Tuesday morning, who promptly alerted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and shifted the body to MGM Hospital in Warangal for a post-mortem examination. Dharmasagar police have registered a case regarding the incident and have launched a detailed investigation into the murder.
