Man Arrested for Stealing Car from Attapur Pista House Valet Counter

The Attapur police have arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly stealing a supermini car from the valet parking area of Pista House near Pillar No. 169 in Hyderabad. Following the arrest, police recovered the stolen vehicle along with a laptop.

The accused has been identified as Syed Mazher, who also goes by aliases including Shooter, Takla, and Mazher Khan. He is a resident of Upparpally in Rajendranagar. According to the police, Mazher is unemployed and has a prior criminal history with involvement in property and bodily offences.

The theft took place on the night of August 22. Mazher visited Pista House and observed the routine of the valet parking staff, who were collecting keys from arriving customers and placing them near the parking counter. Taking advantage of the rush and noticing that the staff were occupied, the accused initiated a conversation with them to divert their attention and lifted two car keys from the counter.

After securing the keys, Mazher walked around the vicinity and pressed the button on one of the key fobs. The lights of a parked car flashed near the Bansali Marble shop nearby. Mazher waited until no one was around, entered the vehicle, started the engine, and drove away from the spot.

During interrogation, police learned that the accused needed funds to travel to his native village in Karnataka to visit his father's grave ahead of Milad-un-Nabi. Faced with a shortage of money, he decided to commit the vehicle theft.

Attapur police tracked down the accused, placed him under arrest, and successfully seized the stolen four-wheeler along with the laptop.
