Malkajgiri Police Deploy 1,140 Officers for Secunderabad Parade Grounds Event

The Malkajgiri police have deployed 1,140 personnel and announced extensive traffic diversions around the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad for the 13th Telangana State Formation Day celebrations on June 2. The security arrangements and traffic restrictions, scheduled to be in place from 7 a.m. to 12 noon, aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the state-level event.
The security deployment comprises various wings of the police force to manage the large gathering expected at the venue. Out of the 1,140 personnel, the department has assigned 507 law and order officers and 358 traffic police personnel to manage the crowds and direct vehicular movement in the surrounding areas.
Furthermore, the bandobast includes 125 staff members from the City Security Wing (CSW) and 90 personnel from the Armed Reserve. To bolster the security presence, four platoons of the Telangana Special Police have also been deployed at the venue.
In addition to the standard police deployment, highly specialised teams have been stationed at strategic locations around the Parade Grounds. These include OCTOPUS commandos and Special Operations Teams (SOT) tasked with surveillance. Bomb disposal squads, sniffer dog squads, IT and Communication teams, and Command Control units are also operating on-site to conduct anti-sabotage checks.
To facilitate smooth parking for attendees, the police have earmarked five designated parking areas in the vicinity of the Parade Grounds. These locations include the Gymkhana Ground, the Bison Polo Ground, the premises of the MES Chief Engineer Office, and Centenary High School, which is located near Sweekar Upkar.
The traffic restrictions and diversions are expected to impact several major arterial roads in the city. Commuters who regularly travel through Begumpet, Secunderabad, Trimulgherry, Bowenpally, Tank Bund, and neighboring areas have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The Malkajgiri police have urged the public to use alternative routes and strictly follow the instructions of the traffic police personnel on duty during the five-hour restriction window.
