Malkajgiri Police Book Man for Threats After Wedding Called Off

The Malkajgiri Cybercrime Police in Hyderabad have registered a case against a man for allegedly subjecting a woman to severe harassment, online abuse, and threats after her family called off their proposed marriage.
According to the complaint, the woman met the suspect, identified as AR Vamshi, through a dating app. Following their engagement, Vamshi allegedly took Rs 15 lakh from her and pressured her family to pay an advance dowry. In response to these demands, the woman's family decided to cancel the wedding.
Following the cancellation, Vamshi allegedly retaliated by spreading false claims on social media stating that the woman was addicted to drugs. He also reportedly threatened to throw acid on her and kill her, causing severe distress to the victim.
Based on the woman's complaint, the Malkajgiri Cybercrime Police registered a case and are currently investigating the allegations alongside the social media posts made by the suspect.
