Malkajgiri Police Book 46 Cases Against Illegal Spas With LB Nagar Reporting 17 Cases

The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate has registered 46 criminal cases against illegal spa centres following a major enforcement drive in Hyderabad, with the LB Nagar Zone recording the highest number of violations. The crackdown, reported on June 5, 2026, involved the systematic inspection of 113 establishments across the commissionerate's jurisdiction.
In the LB Nagar Zone, police officers inspected a total of 47 establishments and subsequently registered 17 cases, making it the area with the most violations. Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B Sumathi confirmed the details of the special operation, which targeted various illegal practices within the local spa industry.
During the inspections of the 113 spa centres, officials discovered multiple violations of safety and legal guidelines. Many of the establishments were found to be operating without the required official permissions. Additionally, several spas had set up concealed rooms that did not feature transparent doors, violating standard safety regulations.
The police also noted significant security lapses at the raided centres. The operators had failed to collect mandatory identity proofs from their customers and did not maintain the required registers and records of visitors.
As a result of these findings, criminal cases have been registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other laws.
Following the enforcement drive, the Malkajgiri police issued a warning to property owners in the region. Landlords have been advised to verify the background and identity of tenants before leasing out their commercial spaces or premises for spa operations.
Commissioner B Sumathi also appealed to the public, urging citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious or illegally run spa centres in their local areas to the police department.
