Malkajgiri Police Arrest Key Accused in Kowkoor Bungalow Dacoity Case

The Malkajgiri police have arrested the remaining key accused, including the mastermind, behind a violent dacoity at an elderly couple's bungalow in Kowkoor, Hyderabad. The arrests, which took place on June 5, resolved the case where a gang of domestic helps and their associates sedated and robbed an international arbitrator and his wife.
The incident occurred on the night of May 11 at the Golf Enclave residence of 68-year-old Murali Mohan Narsipuram, an international arbitrator, within the Jawaharnagar police station limits. The victims' domestic helps, Rajesh and Sabina, along with their associates, tied up the couple and sedated them with an intoxicant before fleeing with 60 tola of gold ornaments, 15 kilograms of silver, 3,000 USD, and two mobile phones.
According to Police Commissioner B Sumathi, the conspiracy was masterminded by Meena and Rajesh, both Nepali nationals. Meena had facilitated the employment of her associate, Sabeena alias Sunitha, as a domestic help and introduced Rajesh as Sabeena's husband on April 25. Once settled in the servant quarters, the gang studied the family's routine before striking under the pretext of celebrating Sabeena's birthday.
Inside the bungalow during the robbery were Rajesh, Sabeena, Meena, Daniel Charoh alias Chang, and Samrat, while Biswal alias Viswal, Kamal Bahadur Chalaune, Jankar Bahadur Chalaune alias Shankar, and Kiran waited outside. The gang escaped using an auto and a scooter, later abandoning the scooter at Yapral.
Six special teams from the law and order, special operations, and central crime station wings analyzed technical evidence and CCTV footage from 255 cameras. Acting on alerts, police initially arrested Sabina, Biswal, Kamal Bahadur, and Jankar Bahadur on May 16 near the Rathifile bus station in Secunderabad.
On June 5, police apprehended the remaining suspects—Meena, Rajesh, Kiran, and Daniel—at Bowenpally, and they were remanded the next day. DCP Ch Sridhar stated that officers recovered 38 tola of gold and nine kilograms of silver from the accused. Meena was previously involved in a property offence at the Moinabad police station in 2023.
Following the dacoity, the police launched a citywide domestic help verification drive, recording the details of 39,270 workers, including 1,276 Nepalis.
