Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy demands healthcare upgrades for constituency

On 5 July 2026, Malkajgiri MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy met with Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Health Principal Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu to submit a memorandum seeking a major health infrastructure boost in the Malkajgiri constituency. The high-level meeting focused on securing faster completion of local healthcare projects, addressing doctor shortages, and upgrading medical equipment in areas including Moulali, Alwal, and Eklavya Nagar.

The MLA presented the memorandum with the aim of expanding local health services and providing quality medical facilities to the people of the constituency. A key priority highlighted in the discussion was the need to commence construction on the proposed Moulali Urban Primary Health Center (UPHC) as soon as possible. Reddy also urged the officials to expedite the construction process on the site already allotted for the UPHC in Eklavya Nagar.

In addition to infrastructure, the MLA raised concerns regarding staffing. He requested the immediate recruitment of doctors to address the critical shortage of medical personnel at the Alwal Primary Health Care center.

The meeting also yielded progress for the Malkajgiri Area Hospital. It was decided to immediately initiate the tender process for crucial development works that had been allocated by the District Collector of Medchal-Malkajgiri. These upgrades will be funded through the Telangana Medical Infrastructure Development Funds (TMIDF). The planned improvements for the hospital include the installation of a new CT scan machine and the provisioning of high-voltage electrical facilities to support the hospital's operations.

Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha and Principal Secretary Christina Z. Chongthu responded positively to the requests presented by Marri Rajasekhar Reddy. The health officials assured the MLA that they would review the proposals with department authorities and take the necessary action to address the constituency's healthcare needs.
