Malkajgiri Civic Body to Create Free Left Lanes on Six Stretches

The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation is implementing 'free left' lanes across six key traffic stretches, including Bandlaguda Y-junction and Mansoorabad Y-junction, to ease vehicular congestion and ensure smoother road movement.

Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vinay Krishna Reddy inspected the identified locations on Thursday alongside engineering officials. During the field visit, he instructed authorities to develop the major intersections to facilitate better traffic flow and clear existing bottlenecks.

The stretches inspected for the initiative include the Bandlaguda Y-junction, Mansoorabad Y-junction, Hayathnagar T-junction, BN Reddy Nagar junction, and SKD Nagar junction, in addition to the free left route connecting Panama Godown to the Sahara service road.

Commissioner Reddy stated that junction development must be planned around a comprehensive assessment of overall vehicle movement. He instructed officials to evaluate the availability of space for free left lanes, road islands, bus stops, and pedestrian facilities.

As part of the drive to eliminate obstructions, the Commissioner also directed engineering teams to identify utility and electric poles that hinder traffic flow at these junctions and arrange for their relocation wherever necessary.
