Madhu Park Ridge Residents Protest Musi River Land Acquisition in Rajendranagar

Tension prevailed at the Gandipet MRO office in Rajendranagar on Tuesday morning as residents from Madhu Park Ridge and several neighbouring colonies staged a protest against land acquisition for the Musi Riverfront Development Project.

The residents gathered at the revenue office at approximately 10:30 am following an invitation from representatives of the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL). The meeting was arranged by officials to persuade property owners to agree to land acquisition for the Gandhi Sarovar Project, which is integrated with the Musi Riverfront Development Project.

In addition to property owners from Madhu Park Ridge, officials invited three to four representatives from Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) across various affected colonies situated along the Musi River. Residents and association representatives from Shivpuri, Dattatreya Colony, Sri Vigneshwara Colony, Dream Homes, Karywell Homes, PG Colony, Vishal Nagar, and Sairam Nagar attended the gathering at the Gandipet office.

Unrest broke out during the session when officials from the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited and the Gandipet Mandal Revenue Officer put pressure on the attendees to give up their properties for the project.

While the Telangana government indicated that it was prepared to pay suitable land compensation to affected owners, the gathered residents rejected the offer. Protesters firmly stated that they were unwilling to part with their land and properties.

As the protest intensified, officials recognized the strong resistance from the community. They subsequently informed the gathered residents that they had come to hear their pleas and receive their official objections regarding the land acquisition process.
