Labourer Dies After Car Driven by Gachibowli Techie Hits Two Bikes in Ghatkesar

A 26-year-old labourer was killed and five others sustained injuries after a car driven by a software professional from Gachibowli allegedly rammed into two two-wheelers in Ghatkesar late on Monday.

The deceased victim was identified as Arun, a native of Madhya Pradesh. Police identified the driver of the car as Rauth Venugopal, a software professional residing in Gachibowli.

According to the Ghatkesar police, the incident occurred around 8 pm when Venugopal was returning home from work. The car was allegedly being driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner.

The vehicle first collided with a motorcycle carrying four people—Arun, Umesh, Pradeep, and Srujan—who had gone to the market. All four riders sustained injuries in the impact, with Arun suffering severe injuries to his right leg and other parts of his body.

Following the first impact, the car allegedly struck a second scooter, injuring two more individuals.

The injured victims were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Arun succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The Ghatkesar police registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation into the incident.
