KV Golconda and SCF Blues Win Eddie Aibara Junior Cricket Titles

On July 11, 2026, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 (Golconda) clinched the girls’ under-14 title, while SCF Blues secured the boys’ under-12 trophy at the Eddie Aibara Junior Cricket Tournament held at the Col C K Nayudu Floodlit Ground in Masab Tank, Hyderabad.

In the girls' under-14 final, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 (Golconda) batted first and posted a score of 52 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allotted eight overs. Anamika was the top scorer for the Golconda side, contributing 22 runs to the total. In response, Safdaria Girls School struggled during their chase and was bowled out for 34 runs. Laxmi Raj starred with the ball for the champions, registering a match-winning spell of four wickets for 12 runs to seal a comfortable victory for her team.

The boys’ under-12 final featured a clash between SCF Blues and Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 (Golconda). Batting first, KV Golconda managed to score 62 runs for the loss of four wickets in eight overs, with Venkat top-scoring with a knock of 32 runs. However, SCF Blues chased down the target comfortably, reaching 63 runs for the loss of three wickets in 7.2 overs to record a seven-wicket victory. G Jashwanth guided the chase for the Blues with a crucial 25 runs.

Following the matches, former Ranji cricketer and Founder Secretary of SCF, K Sai Baba, distributed the prizes to the young athletes. In individual recognitions, Farhan was named the Player of the Tournament in the under-14 category. He was presented with an English willow bat and cricket balls for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Sai Baba emphasized the role of such tournaments in youth development. He stated that the events are conducted to help promote equality, build confidence, and discover young sporting talent as part of SCF’s Building India Through Sports mission.
