Kukatpally Tops CMC List With 365 Unauthorised Constructions

Kukatpally has recorded the highest number of unauthorised constructions within the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) limits over the past year, with 365 illegal structures identified by civic authorities.
According to the CMC, more than 800 unauthorised buildings were detected across its three administrative zones during this period. The Kukatpally zone, where a seven-storey building recently collapsed, topped the list with 365 violations, followed by Quthbullapur zone with 224 cases and Serilingampally zone with 195 cases.
Municipal authorities confirmed that enforcement proceedings have been initiated against all 365 unauthorised constructions identified within the Kukatpally zone.
Enforcement measures have also been taken in the other zones. In Quthbullapur, the civic body issued notices in all 224 identified cases, resulting in 48 structures being either demolished or sealed.
Serilingampally recorded the highest volume of enforcement actions, where authorities issued 134 show-cause notices and 107 speaking orders. These steps were followed by 28 demolitions and 55 seizures, totaling 83 physical enforcement actions.
A senior CMC official stated that the civic administration is focusing strictly on physical enforcement rather than allowing compounding of violations.
"Enforcement proceedings have been initiated in all confirmed cases, and we are focusing on physical enforcement rather than compounding violations. Our approach over the past year has been to stop and remove unauthorised constructions rather than rely on compounding. Enforcement drives will continue across all three zones," the official said.
