Kukatpally Court Sentences Three Men to Life Imprisonment in 2010 Murder Case

A local court in Kukatpally has sentenced three men to life imprisonment in connection with a 16-year-old murder case that took place under the jurisdiction of the KPHB police station. Third Additional District Sessions Judge M. Venkateswara Rao delivered the verdict, awarding life terms to the convicts identified as Bonala Nagachari, Engannagari Venkatachari, and Praveen Mandal.
According to details provided by the KPHB police, the victim, Mohan Naidu, lived in KPHB 4th Phase and shared a friendship with the three accused men. The conflict originated from a housing promise after Mohan allegedly collected Rs. 20,000 from Nagachari with the assurance of securing an allotment under the Rajiv Gruhakalpa housing scheme.
However, Mohan neither secured the promised house nor refunded the money to Nagachari. Instead, he allegedly began issuing threats to Nagachari when asked about the pending funds, escalating tensions between the two parties.
The fatal confrontation took place on the night of December 14, 2010. On that evening, Nagachari, Venkatachari, and Praveen brought Mohan to KPHB 4th Phase under the pretext of consuming alcohol. During an argument that broke out among the group, Praveen and Venkatachari reportedly held Mohan down while Nagachari drew a pistol and shot him directly in the head.
Following the shooting, the accused stripped gold ornaments from Mohan’s body. They then loaded the body into the boot of a car and drove out to a forested area located on the outskirts of Vallur in Medak district, where they buried the remains to conceal the crime.
The case came to light after Mohan’s brother lodged a missing-person complaint with the local police. The trio was subsequently apprehended when law enforcement officials intercepted them travelling together in a car while in possession of a firearm. The ensuing investigation established their role in the murder, culminating in their trial and the life sentences handed down by the Kukatpally court.
