KTR visits former MLA Balka Suman's family in Hyderabad to extend solidarity

BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday, June 19, 2026, visited the residence of former MLA Balka Suman in Hyderabad to meet with his family members and extend the party's full solidarity. The visit follows the arrest of Suman, which has sparked criticism from the opposition party against the current administration.

During his interaction with the family, Rama Rao assured them of the party’s complete backing and told them not to worry. He emphasized that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is standing firmly by Suman and his family during this challenging time.

Suman was arrested by the authorities on May 30, 2026, over remarks he made regarding the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). The arrest was reportedly based on allegations of militant activity remarks directed at the coal mining company.

Speaking during the visit, Rama Rao strongly condemned the arrest, calling the legal actions politically motivated. He accused the Congress government of filing illegal cases against Suman to imprison him because he was actively fighting for public issues and raising questions about alleged corruption in the Singareni Collieries.

The BRS working president described Suman as a strong opposition leader who was targeted for raising his voice. He accused the state government of attempting to suppress opposition voices across the state through intimidation and the filing of cases.

Despite these actions by the government, Rama Rao asserted that BRS leaders and workers would continue their fight for the people. He stated that the party would not be deterred by what he described as political vendetta and exuded confidence that the BRS continues to enjoy the support of the public.
