KTR praises Hyderabad entrepreneur Aarav Garg as AI startup Omi raises $3 million

On 10 July 2026, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao congratulated Hyderabad entrepreneur Aarav Garg on the global success of his artificial intelligence wearable startup, Omi. During their interaction in Hyderabad, Rama Rao praised Garg's transition from a teenage innovator into the co-founder of a globally recognized technology firm.
The meeting served as a reunion for the two, recalling their first interaction back in 2022. At the time, Garg was a 16-year-old innovator who showcased a technology product to Rama Rao and shared his vision of empowering young people through technological innovation.
Four years after that initial meeting, Garg co-founded Omi. The startup focuses on developing AI wearable devices that are designed to function as a user’s second brain. The firm has since emerged as a prominent example of young Indian talent building globally competitive technology products.
Omi has secured significant financial backing, raising approximately $3 million in funding from prominent international investors, including Tim Draper and Dropbox Ventures. Alongside this funding, the startup has achieved commercial success by selling over 25,000 AI wearable devices to a global customer base.
The startup's technology and market success have also drawn international media attention. Omi's products have been featured in leading global publications, including The Wall Street Journal and Forbes.
Rama Rao, who previously served as the state's IT Minister, shared photographs of their latest interaction in a post on the social media platform X on Friday. He congratulated Garg and the entire Omi team, noting that it was highly encouraging to see Hyderabad-based entrepreneurs building products that compete on a global scale. He also wished the team continued success in advancing AI innovation.
