KTR Meets Jailed Balka Suman, Accuses Congress of Misusing PDPP Act

BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao met jailed party leader and former MLA Balka Suman at Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad on Thursday, accusing the Congress-led Telangana government of misusing the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act to target opposition leaders. Rama Rao, who was accompanied by BRS leaders Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Sudhir Reddy, and Harshavardhan Reddy, claimed the administration is registering false cases to divert public attention.
Speaking to media outside the jail, Rama Rao stated that the BRS is not intimidated by government threats or jail sentences. He asserted that the party would continue to expose state government scams, alleging that Suman was jailed specifically for exposing irregularities within the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL).
Rama Rao accused the government of employing double standards when registering police cases. He questioned why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was not jailed when, as Malkajgiri MP and PCC President, he threatened to bomb Pragathi Bhavan. He also raised questions regarding the lack of action against Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for threatening a surgical strike on Hyderabad's Old City.
Further pointing to alleged disparities, Rama Rao questioned why no action was taken against Congress leader Mainampally Hanumantha Rao for attacking Harish Rao's camp office in Siddipet, or against Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy for threatening to burn down a company.
According to Rama Rao, the BRS has exposed multiple irregularities under the current administration, including a Rs. 15,000 crore scam involving "Site Visitation Certificates" and solar tender irregularities. He criticized the government for failing to hold board meetings for 11 months, which he claimed has denied employment to the children of thousands of workers. He contrastingly noted that 19,000 jobs were provided under KCR's rule and condemned Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka for initiating a vigilance inquiry into those recruitments.
