KTR Demands Central Probe into Corruption Allegations in Telangana

Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao stated on Saturday at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad that corruption and irregularities in the state are now being openly highlighted by ruling Congress party legislators. He said he agreed with remarks made by Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, noting that criticism from within the ruling party demonstrated a deterioration in state governance.

Speaking to reporters, Rama Rao said the Congress government had previously dismissed opposition allegations as political criticism, but could no longer do so when its own MLAs were raising serious questions about the administration's top leadership.

Rama Rao alleged that the Telangana Congress had been converted into an ATM for Rahul Gandhi and the All India Congress Committee. He pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made similar allegations during his visits to Telangana.

Questioning the lack of action from the Union government, the BRS leader demanded that central investigating agencies step in. He stated that making political speeches during elections served no purpose and urged central agencies to conduct an impartial investigation to reveal the facts to the public if the allegations carried substance.

Rama Rao also criticised Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy over his statements about working 18 hours a day. He alleged that the Chief Minister was not dedicating those hours to the state of Telangana, but rather towards facilitating land, contracts, and public funds for his family members, relatives, and followers.

He further urged the state government to introspect regarding its governance, public welfare programmes, and issues concerning youth rights. Rama Rao raised concerns over the handling of welfare initiatives, stating that existing programmes such as Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak were being disrupted rather than effectively delivered to poor people, farmers, women, and students.
