KTR Challenges Revanth Reddy to Judicial Probe into Family Assets

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday challenged Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to order a judicial probe into the assets held by him and his family, including former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, during an event at Telangana Bhavan.

Addressing a gathering where leaders from the Congress and BJP representing the Armoor constituency joined the BRS at Telangana Bhavan, Rama Rao urged the Chief Minister to avoid indulging in empty and meaningless rhetoric at public meetings and instead back his claims with an official inquiry.

Rama Rao's challenge came as a counter to remarks made by Revanth Reddy during a public meeting in Sircilla on Wednesday. The BRS leader stated that he is ready to face an inquiry if Revanth Reddy is also willing to place his own assets and those of his family members before a sitting Supreme Court or High Court judge for scrutiny.

Addressing allegations concerning his commercial ventures, Rama Rao took a dig at the Chief Minister, thanking him for providing free publicity to his hotel business. Rama Rao clarified that his ownership of three hotels was fully disclosed in previous election affidavits and stated that he established the business using his own funds.

Rama Rao turned the scrutiny toward the ruling administration, demanding that Revanth Reddy explain how his brothers amassed Rs 1,000 crore since the Congress party assumed power in the state. He maintained that if the Chief Minister were genuinely sincere regarding his accusations, he would immediately sanction a judicial probe.

Rama Rao concluded by arguing that the Chief Minister relies on launching inquiries and filing cases merely to divert attention from administrative shortcomings. He cited ongoing probes into the Kaleshwaram project, power purchases, and Formula E, claiming they were orchestrated solely to distract the public from crucial governance issues.
