KTR Blames Telangana Government For Shabad Killings By POCSO Accused On Bail

On Saturday, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao held the Telangana state government and the Home Department responsible for the gruesome killing of six family members by a POCSO accused in Shabad, Rangareddy district. Speaking to mediapersons, the BRS leader strongly condemned the violent crime, which took place barely 30 kilometers away from Hyderabad, and pointed to severe administrative lapses.
According to Rama Rao, the accused individual was granted bail by the court despite the victim's family explicitly warning the authorities about the threats they were facing from him. Despite these warnings, the accused was released and subsequently went on to murder six members of the family.
Rama Rao stated that the state government must take full responsibility when accused persons who are released on bail go on to commit such heinous crimes. He specifically alleged that the Public Prosecutor failed to argue the case effectively in court to oppose the bail. He further accused the state government, particularly the Home Minister, of failing to provide adequate protection to the victim's family.
The press conference also turned into a direct political clash between the BRS opposition and the ruling Congress government. Rama Rao responded to recent remarks made by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who had publicly described the BRS working president as a "financial terrorist."
Rejecting the characterization, Rama Rao retorted that a financial terrorist was actually someone caught with Rs 50 lakh in unaccounted cash and accused of conspiring to topple an elected government. He added that while Revanth Reddy currently serves as the Chief Minister, he should refrain from making cheap comments.
