KTR and Harish Rao Pay Tribute to Prof Jayashankar on Death Anniversary in Hyderabad

In Hyderabad on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao and BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao paid rich tributes to the prominent Telangana ideologue, Professor Kothapalli Jayashankar, on the occasion of his death anniversary. The senior political leaders recalled the professor's pivotal role in the historic statehood movement and reaffirmed their dedication to the ideals he championed throughout his lifetime.

Speaking on the occasion, BRS working president KT Rama Rao termed Professor Jayashankar an extraordinary intellectual. He highlighted how the late professor articulated the self-respect, identity, and aspirations of the people of Telangana while consistently drawing attention to the historical injustices faced by the region and the critical need for a separate State.

Rama Rao expressed that the immense void left by the passing of Professor Jayashankar could never be filled. He reminded the public that the Telangana ideologue remained steadfast and unwavering in his pursuit of a separate statehood until his very last breath.

Furthermore, Rama Rao recalled Professor Jayashankar’s significant role as a mentor to BRS founder K Chandrashekhar Rao and as the central ideological guide of the entire statehood movement. He noted that the previous BRS government had formally honored the late intellectual by naming both the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district and an agricultural college after him.

In a separate tribute, BRS Legislature Party deputy leader T Harish Rao stated that Professor Jayashankar successfully laid the ideological foundation for the Telangana movement. He emphasized that the professor dedicated his entire life to the cause of achieving statehood for the region.

Harish Rao described the professor’s life, his prolonged struggle, and his sacrifices as a source of inspiration for future generations. He reaffirmed the BRS party's steadfast commitment to safeguarding the interests of Telangana and upholding the ideals championed by Professor Jayashankar.
