KT Rama Rao Urges Telangana Government to Expedite Pending TIMS Hospital Projects

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao has urged the Telangana government to expedite and complete the pending Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospital projects at Alwal and LB Nagar in Hyderabad to make them accessible to the public.
Taking to social media platform X, Rama Rao also called for the speedy completion of the 2,000-bed Warangal Super Specialty Hospital—planned as the largest such facility in Telangana—as well as the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) expansion works in Hyderabad.
Rama Rao alleged that the Congress government had delayed these healthcare projects due to political considerations, claiming the administration feared former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao would receive credit for them. He demanded that the pending facilities be completed and opened without further delay.
At the same time, the BRS leader welcomed the opening of the TIMS hospital in Sanathnagar, stating that it was heartening to see the facility finally become accessible to the public. He said the project was initiated under Chandrashekhar Rao's tenure to offer free, corporate-standard healthcare to the poor and was modelled on the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
According to Rama Rao, the foundation stones for the TIMS network were laid during the previous BRS administration to establish super-specialty hospitals across different corners of Hyderabad.
The newly accessible Sanathnagar TIMS hospital is built on a 22-acre campus and features 1,000 general beds, 300 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, and 16 operation theatres. The facility is equipped with an organ transplant unit, cath labs, radiology, dialysis facilities, and diagnostic equipment for MRI, CT scans, and X-rays.
Rama Rao noted that the Sanathnagar facility would serve as a critical healthcare lifeline not only for the residents of Hyderabad but also for patients arriving from districts across the state. He also extended his best wishes to the engineers who built the campus, along with the doctors, nursing staff, and healthcare personnel deployed to provide care at the hospital.
